    The US Environmental Protection Agency's Performance Track initiative is a voluntary partnership that recognizes top environmental performance by facilities. In 2004, OSRAM SYLVANIA's Hillsboro plant joined the Partnership and outlined plans to reduce waste by increasing recycling and avoiding 124 tons of non-hazardous waste from being deposited in landfills annually, reduce energy consumption by installing energy-efficient lighting and occupancy sensors and improving air compressor efficiency, reucing VOCs from the cleaning and printing processes, and reducing lead in glass.





    The National Park Service -- National Capital Region awarded the 2001 Conservation Partnership Award to OSRAM SYLVANIA in recognition of its contribution to the lighting of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC.
